From the rising of the sun…

From the rising of the sun, to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.  Psalm 113:3

Thirsty?

We shared our property at Nautical Point with several deer.  We did not see them every day, but when we did see them it was a treat.  I could enjoy them because they had plenty of natural foliage to eat, and left our landscaped items alone – for the most part!

During the heat of the day they would seek out the water in the ravine, and a shaded place to rest.   When I am feeling weary, seeking after God brings refreshment to my soul.  Drink that in today…

Don’t miss it…

This gallery contains 1 photo.

I appreciate both this photo and scripture…  This is a shot I would have missed on my own.  I have always enjoyed taking photographs, and am quick to jump at any opportunity to learn how to do that better.   … Continue reading

Be refreshed and revived!

First you hear it as you continue along the hot dusty trail, and then anticipation grows as you begin to feel the air cool. We are fortunate to be able to enjoy many gorgeous hiking trails that lead to waterfalls in North Carolina, where I live.  It doesn’t matter how many times I see a waterfall, the first glimpse always takes my breath away.   I welcome the cool refreshing mist on my face and arms.  Just like hiking – life can leave you feeling hot and dusty and in need of refreshment. I am thankful we can be revived by God’s wonderful and perfect promises.  Join me today and let His Word refresh you and revive your thirsty soul.                                    The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.  Psalm 19:7

Joy comes in the morning!

11 - FoodNighttime is not the time for Len and I to talk about serious situations, or make a major decision.  We are tired and sometimes feel exhausted from the day.  I have also found that my concerns seem worse at night, and have even cried myself to sleep over them.   The good things that are going on in my life, and the many things I have to be thankful for far out weigh the trials and rough patches – but at night it doesn’t seem like it.  Enjoy this wonderful promise God gives us, and welcome joy in the morning.  Trust Him with your heartbreak and cares, and welcome His joy back in your life!

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.  Psalm 30:5

You are unique

Be your unique, wonderful, colorful self today!  You can make a difference wherever you go – but you must be yourself to make an authentic impact.  Don’t let doubt fill your mind and cause you to long to be like someone else – enjoy and embrace being YOU!                                         For we are his workmanship, created in Christ for good works,                                             which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.                                                      Ephesians 2:10rose - be your colorful self today

This is the way – walk in it…

I am one of those people who are direction-ally challenged.  Unless you share this trait with me, you don’t know what a handicap it can be.  My life has become so much easier now that I have a navigational system with me wherever I go!  I just need to follow this devices instruction turn by turn.  In a similar way I need to depend on the Holy Spirit to be my spiritual navigation system.  He will  whispers in my ear saying – this is the way – walk in it – no earbuds necessary!

The waves of the sea still know His name

There is no sound that I enjoy more that the sound of surf pounding on the shore.  At night this sound can lull me to sleep in no time at all.  The sea holds amazing power. We see evidence of that power when it exceeds is normal boundaries during a tropical storm or a hurricane.  Isn’t it amazing that all of that power is normally harnessed?   When God created the world he set the boundaries of the oceans telling them where to stop!   Be encouraged, the creator of the mighty sea will be mighty for you. The waves of the sea still know His name!Psalm 93-4 many waters
